So I have Windows 7 Ulitmate x64 on a new build thats only 7 months old and working great so far but there is one wierd thing getting me. So I have a 120GB Intel SSD and a WD Enterprise 2TB HDD, the wierd thing thats going on with the HDD is it will randomly power down when I am using a program on the SSD but then when I want to use a program on the HDD it has a 30sec-1min delay to open the program on the HDD since it spins back up.

It is a power save feature or what is causing that?

it is possible your HDD is dying , download crystaldiskinfo
test your drives and let me know the results ?
