gskill ripjaws 1333mhz 8gb (2gb x 4)

amd fx 6300 or 4300

or

gigabyte ga f2a88xm (fm2+)

amd 5600k or 6600 (fm2)

gskill ripjaws 1333mhz (4gb x 2)

what i currently have is:

biostar n68s3b (am3 mobo)

amd athlon ii x2 250

4gb ram (micro data??)

inno3d 9600gt 256bit (1gb) but i have a spare sapphire hd 7770 vapor x 1gb ddr5

fsp raider 750watts

HDD (1x 320 and 1x 160gb)

antec 902 chassis

acer 23" monitor..

i need your suggestions/help since i'm a total noob.
no overclocking will be made since i'm not a real gamer. what i only play is left4dead 1 and 2, nfs carbon, underground 2, blur, counter strike 1.3 (thats right 1.3, playing it since 2003 and never gets old for me).

a little bit of google sketch up ( not hardcore 3d rendering).

future upgrades for cooling is liquid cooling for cpu, prolink volans keyboard, i'll stick with my a4tech mouse.

altec lansing octane 7.
thats my only options for the AM3+. i dont have the budget for fm2+ processors for now, no crossfire will be made, if ever, maybe a 7750( but the mobos only have 2nd pcie x16 @x4 so maybe not). i dont use the sapphire 7770 vaporx for now, just tested it. the 9600gt is great for my pc, but the hd 7770 is not( dunno why) thanks for reading.

Yea I would stay with am3+ if you are sticking with AMD. The Fm2+ is made for AMD's APU processors which have integrated graphics. It's better to go with the AM3+ socket and get either a fx6300 or the fx8320/8350 CPU's. They have much more computing power than even the A10, which is the most powerful CPU on the FM2+ socket. If you are gaming, you will want to have a discrete GPU anyways. So the APU's like the A10/A8/A6's would be limiting you.

I think that the fx 6300 is worth the little extra cash (normally).

For a gpu should the hd 7770 be better. Are you using the right drivers when you put it in? So install the gpu,get rid of the nvidia drivers with the next tool and install the latest amd drivers for the hd 7770,

If you get the feeling that 4gb's of ram are enough could you reuse that from the current pc.That would save some money.

I would go with the first build you have listed with the 6300. The 6300 is only $10 more than the 4300 and is well worth it in my opinion.

I would suggest going with 1600 speed ram instead of 1333 if you are buying new. There is really no price difference. But its also not really that big of a deal, seeing as you won't notice any differences in using 1333 or 1600. The ripjaws are a good choice though.

hey guys, sorry i cant find the reply button on my ipad, so i just used the post an answer button, yep i installed the latest driver for my 7770, but everytime i choose the " use recommended settings" on the games, say l4d, it gives me a horrible video/graphics so i have to adjust the settings ine by one, but when i used the 9600gt and choose to use recommended settings, the graphics were great, i only noticed the difference while playing BLUR, the 7770 was great, but still, i had to adjust the settings again one by one. anyway, thanks for answering, i cant find phenom ii x4's or athlon ii x4's in my country ( philippines), so i decided to build a new pc, i really wanted to buy an fm2+ setup, but i thought that the am3+ setup is still good and is still worth the money.

thanks ROOKIEOFTHEYEAR for the info, i'll keep that in mind, maybe i'll stick with 6300 for now, the just wait for the price of other great am3+ processors to go down, am not really into gaming, what i just want to play now is gta 4, hahaha, i like old games, am not really updated about the latest games, it just disappoints me to know that i cant play the game with max settings, so i stay with the older ones,..

to VIC40, yep, i completely erased/uninstalled the nvidia drivers, and installed amd catalyst? (cant remember).. now im back with 9600gt, i reinstalled the nvidia drivers, and is now working great again, everytime i open my pc, amd catalyst pops up and says that the video card installed is not supported etc etc, i know why, i Just cant uninstall the amd catalyst driver from my pc... would there be a big problem?
