Faulty GPU in brand new build?

Hey all, so I built my first computer a few days ago. The build went really smooth and it booted up on the first try. Installed windows and all the necessary drivers, but the first thing I noticed that was odd was the frame rate issues I was getting when playing LoL and Dark Souls 2. I was literally getting less than 10 FPS in both games and I even set both games to the lowest settings to see if I had it too high and it was the same. After checking everything else like the temperatures I ran the FurMark stress test and got an absolutely terrible score. I ran the 1920x1080 15 minute burn-in benchmark test and the result was a 389, which is very low. I believe a card like mine, MSI GTX 760, should reach around 4000. During the stress test I did notice it was struggling with FPS around 5 the entire test. Could I have a faulty video card? I uninstalled the drivers and did a clean install of the video drivers again and still the same issues. Any advice on what to do is appreciated! I have no problems trying to get a replacement from Amazon, but I'd rather try something else before I go through a return/replacement process. Below is my setup:

i5-4670k - not overclocked yet
Hyper 212 Evo
ASRock Z87 Extreme 4 mobo
Corsair Vengeance 4x2 8GB memory
MSI GeForce GTX 760
Samsung 120 GBSSD
Seagate 1TB HDD
Corsair 200R Case
Corsair CX500M PSU

what driver for your gpu did you install? was it one from the disk which you got with it? as if it was there normally out of date and your best to search online for the latest drivers. i had a similar problem a few months back, i didnt use my pc for a couple of months due to working away and when i came back to use it the fps and quality of games had dropped massively, so i uninstalled the drivers and re-installed the latest ones from online and it worked a dream then.

Im sorry to say but it sounds as tho you do have a faulty card there. As i have a gtx760 myself and they get alot better marks than what you got.
My advise would be to get in touch with amazon and ask for a replacement.

it's a brand new build. let's give this a chance. some people like to cut corners because they want to start using the machine before it's really "built".

I actually installed them all through the easy driver installer through BIOS.

I haven't tried that. Only thing I reinstalled were all the drivers and it still didn't work.

The PSU (CX500M) is brand new from Newegg and I'm using the cable that came with the PSU to connect to the GPU. I guess just to give you more information I am using the x2 PCI-E 6-pin and 8-Pin cable that came with the PSU and it is hooked into the bottom right of the PSU.

Edit: No I don't have an extra cable to use, but I do have a microcenter close by. Can you link me a cable that I can pick up there to try out?

if you were to buy a new cable thats all you would ask for....what you quoted me pci-e 6pin or 8pin cable. i doubt it would be that tho, im just trying to give you some ideas to try. dont go out of your way to buy anything extra as yet tho. silly question but when you power up you dont have any l.e.d lights lit up on your motherboard do you? apart from a green l.e.d for power indication.
also how do you have your ram set up? are they in alternate slots. like 1 and 3 or 2 and 4?

I don't have any lights on the motherboard when I power up. I have my ram set up in slots 2 and 4 due to the CPU cooler blocking slot 1. I appreciate all of the help so far!

Right now I'm using the latest drivers, which are actually in beta (337.50). When I uninstalled all drivers I went on Nvidia's site and noticed the beta version so I figured I would give it a shot. Now, I think I'm going to uninstall the drivers again and install the most up to date non-beta version and see if that helps.

So I uninstalled all the drivers and reinstalled everything without the GeForce Experience Software and it seems to be working like a charm. Downloaded the 3D Mark 11 demo and immediately noticed increased performance. It was only the performance test but here are the results: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7313232

those results seem alot better now, glad it seems to be working ok for you now. just try running some stress tests for a while. maybe leave it on for a hour or so to see how it behaves.

What stress test do you recommend and on what settings?
