Hello there people of tom's Hardware. I have a question: does the DS PTD version includes the game itself or is it just the DLC? Thank you for you're time.

More about : dark souls prepare die

It is the only version for PC.... obviously it includes the game. what good would a DLC only pack be if you could not buy the base game?

Will the game itself be harder with the DLC?

the pc port of dark souls was horribly done and required a 3rd party "fix" just to be considered playable. i would stick to the console version.

i've played through the ps3 darks souls and it was pretty hard but not unreasonably so. i played without any of the updates though. the updates changed a huge amount of stuff... from nerfing certain skills/weapons to buffing others. generally stuff which wasnt needed.

also be aware that if you play dark souls online that there are hackers who hacked their game running around which you could encounter.

i have dark souls 2 and unfortunately the same stuff is going on. idiotic update patches which nerf perfectly fine items while not nerfing others (catering to what strength and dex builds want mostly since these are what makes up lots of pvp) and its already been hacked with some people running around with infinite health and such (though its not "bad" yet)

pvp in any of the souls games comes down to two idiots running around 2 handing big swords most of the time. shields and magic are considered cheap, but somehow using miracles isnt.

i enjoyed all 3 of the series and they are good but the updates and some members of the community (AND the lack of a "invite friend" option! its so hard to connect to people you know!) kind of ruin it for me.

Thanks, you put alot of time in that! Anyway, do you recommend updating the game? (does it fix bugs?)

dark souls1 for pc? its almost required to use the "patch" created for it by the public or else its too buggy.

dark souls1 for console? if you want to play online you need to (else you'd need to disconnect your ethernet when you intend to play it). there are lots of bugs which are fixed by the updates however some people dont agree with the balancing they did. its nothing which completely destroys the game though so i would say yes, get the updates.

You kinda missed his answer. The Prepare To Die edition is ONLY for the pc. It is the game bundled with the DLC. If you are buying it for the ps3 then you will be buying JUST the game and then have to fork out the extra money for the dlc.

I think you misunderstood, the PC version is Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition and is bundled with the DLC. See this: http://darksouls.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Souls:_Prepare_to_...

If you can play it on PC in better settings than the PS3 version it'd probably be the better option, I'm glad I only just recently got into Souls after not having initially liked Demon's Souls the first time I played it for a couple hours (if even) because these games deserve the upgraded graphics mods and higher, consistent fps.

Edit: Oh wow, I didn't see the trail of posts after the first few answering this question until after mine, my bad.

I sincerely apologize. I looked up the PTD edition before I posted since last I knew it was normally only the pc version but now when I look I see it is available for all consoles. Again I am sorry and you can disregard my comment.

Don't worry it's just a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes. But anyway, thanks to all of you who helped me!
