A friend's computer consists of these parts

GPU: Geforce GT 9800
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GHz
RAM: 4gb 1333MHz
Mamma board: somthing with a LGA775 socket
PSU: 500w

HDD and Case are of no concern.

He wants to be able to run Watch Dogs at about fair settings 1080p. Please nothing too out of the price range.
All advice will be helpful and appreciated, thank you.

Honestly hes needs a new system/major overhaul. A simple upgrade isn't going to do it. He needs a new CPU, mobo, GPU, ram, and probably PSU. For what you are wanting to do I'd say it would cost a minimum of $500 if a PSU is needed. I would need the make and model of the current PSU to know for sure. But here's a list of what I would get.

tim the pc is so old there nothing there to save on making a newer gaming pc. a newer mb and cpu will take most of his build funds.
