This morning, my PC was working fine, and this afternoon when I go to switch it on, it didn't want to boot. The light on the mouse came on but the light on the keyboard didn't light and no video was outputted to the monitor. I have checked the monitor and it works fine and I have also plugged in the monitor into the motherboard instead of my GPU. Nothing seems to be working and I really need to get on it for work, not to mention Star Craft 2!!!

Any ideas what could have gone wrong in such a short space of time, and how I can fix it.

Hello,

If the system doesn't even get to reading the boot loader, then you should try clearing CMOS (re-setting the BIOS). This is usually done by moving a jumper on the motherboard, though some newer models come with a button to make things easier. According to your motherboard's manual, there should be a jumper on the bottom right, labeled "CLRTC". It should be connecting pins 1 and 2 (middle and left). To reset your BIOS, you should power down the computer, remove the power cord from the power supply and move the jumper from 1-2 to 2-3 (middle and right). leave it there for about 10s to make sure it has reset (timing does not have to be precise, no risk here), then move it back to 1-2. Plug the cord again, power it up and cross fingers. You may get a message about system being set to defaults, so it would be good to enter setup and adjust time, date and whatever you may have changed there before.

Also, try removing and installing your memory chips again.
