I've searched and searched, and I have been unable to find the Lenovo Part Numbers for the motherboard(s) in the Lenovo ThinkStation E31 Tower [a workstation type of computer housed in a mid-tower case].

The E31 uses at least two different chipsets, the Q77 and the C216 -- so there must be at least two different Lenovo motherboard Part Numbers.

For comparason, consider the Lenovo ThinkCentre M92p Tower. . The M92p Tower was shipped with one of these three motherboards: . 03T6821 . or . 03T7081 . or . 03T7083

This information can be found in the following online / downloadable PDF-file:

http://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkCentre/m92_m92p_tower_part_listings_nov_21_2013.pdf

I cannot find a similar Lenovo PDF-file for the Lenovo ThinkStation E31 Tower. . Lenovo is usually pretty good about such things, and I am puzzled about the lack of info on the E31.

I actually have two questions here...

1) . What are the comparable 7-digit motherboard numbers for the Lenovo ThinkStation E31 Tower?

2) . In the ThinkStation E31 Series... Does Lenovo use the same size & shape & hole-layout-pattern [9.6" x 9.6" square micro-ATX] in both the Tower Desktop motherboard and the Small Desktop [SFF] motherboard?

If not, how are the Tower and SFF boards different?

Thanks for your answers

Thank you very much, your answer is very helpful -- I'm selecting your answer as the Solution.

May I ask how you located this link? . If you used Google, what was your search string?

[Note: . In my initial post I stated that "The E31 uses at least two different chipsets, the Q77 and the C216", but that was incorrect. . . The E31 comes with only one type of motherboard that uses the C216 chipset, and accepts either ECC or non-ECC memory (but not a mix of the two).]

Regarding the second question in my original post...

Lenovo is putting the same motherboard into both the Tower and the Small Form Factor versions of the E31.
