Windows 7 to Chrome OS on an old HP Laptop

Hey everyone.

I've got this old HP laptop that's my everyday user (email, ebay, etc etc.). I'm interested in moving away from Windows and toward Chrome OS, as pretty much everything I do is on the hive mind these days. I would, however, like to preserve my hard drive as it is now (just in case I want to go back, need to access something old, whatever).

My laptop has the capability to run 2 HHD's. I'm wondering if I can install Chrome OS on hard drive 2 (that doesn't have my windows OS), switch it out physically with hard drive 1 and magically have a functioning computer with Chrome OS.

Oh, and yes, I'm pretty inexperienced. I'm not sure if the hard drives can simply be switched out, or if there will be some horrific consequence for doing that.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yes you can. You will have to install chrome OS on one hard drive. When you first start up your computer, it should say, "press (key) to enter BIOS"

When in bios, you can tell which drive the computer will boot from.
