What is audiodg.exe and how do I stop it?

Hi,
When I play a video game and utilize voice chat, a massive lag spike lasting around 20 seconds arises - it freezes my game until it subsides.
It stems from Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation.

I have two playback devices, but only use one.

I did some research and discovered that it is not supposed to occur on Windows 8, which I have.

Does anyone know if this is a virus? Or how to disable it?

I found out that the problem was rooted in my microphone - your answer worked; I simply had to complete the process in the "Recording" tab instead. Thanks a lot!!
