Hey guys, I'm looking for a monitor for my first build. I came down to options the Asus VX279Q or the LG 27EA63V-P? I'll mostly be watching blu-ray movies and some casual gaming. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I don't want ghosting problems either. Oh, and what makes the LG more expensive?

+1 to Asus. No doubt that it is the best pick 
The only thing that LG costs more is the cd/m2 . The LG one is suitable for offices with lots of daylight so it makes the screen easier to read.

I beliee the Asus would be the best, it's slightly cheaper and they are basically the same , LG usually has a premium for its glossy design , but I will mention one thing. If you are watching blu Ray , many are in 21:9 aspect ratio and the AOC 29 inch ultra wide is amazing for gaming and for films without black bars , but its 50 pounds more expensive , but if you want something that has the wow factor that is it! But between those two, the Asus!
