Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my newly acquired Desktop. Its a Dell Optiplex 990. Quick info... i7-2600 (3.4GHz), 8GBs of RAM and OH!.... this is the MT version. Also, the power supply is 265v. (Some eco-friendly crap haha) Since I'm new to PC upgrading, I'm trying to look for some help on what kind of video card I should get to put in this. I was looking at this video card. Would this work? I also foresee a problem with the power supply. Will my power supply be enough or will I need to get a new one? Any suggestion on that would be great.

Overall, I'm looking to spend under $200 for everything.

Thanks!

If this is your PC: http://gelectronic.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Optip...
...you will be severly limited by the tiny PSU. The 265 W (not V) is too small to use anything that would be decent for gaming at anything higher resolution than maybe 1280x800. This would be all that PSU could safely handle: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... I don't think you'd be happy.

You better consider upgrading the PSU first.

Could you give the exact name of the Power Supply, or at least what it is in terms of watts? And I'm not sure what video card you are referring to, there is no link. XD

Oh yes, what clutchc said. I did not see what he said until after I posted. But yeah you'd need to upgrade PSU before upgrading.

For $200 I would grab a new PSU and a 750Ti like this

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Superclocked Video Card ($149.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: SeaSonic 400W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($45.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $195.97
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
