My setup
Mobo: GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3853#ov
BIOS Version: U1L(UEFI BIOS)
CPU: Intel i7 3770k
GPU: PNY GTX 760

this week i installed this card, upgrading from a 560. It had been working fine the past couple fo days but then today it started acting weird.

I get the the boot screen and it sits there for a few minutes, none of the buttons will work at the boot screen, pressing DEL does not take me into the bois, F9 doesnt do anything nor f12.
I wanted it to boot from CD so i can re install Windows 8. But it will not do that.

I thought it may be a MOBO issue, so i removed the cmos battery and booted. but nothing changed. I reseated everything in the pc and still nothing changed.

If i leave it on the boot screen it will eventually go to a black screen and show the model of video card in the top left and then boot into windows, takes a very long time.

If i put my old 560 back in everything works fine. I can get into the bios boot from cd etc.

If i boot off the onboard video everything is fine.

So i have no idea why this new video card would cause such an issue, ive never ever had an issue like this before.

At this point im looking to do a RMA or even get a refund for this card.

Anyone else seen this kinda thing before?

im not sure if this means anything.

but this all started after i set the bios to optimized defaults.

normally when a computer boots the first screen you see is black with the video card model in the top left, then you get the bios screen then it boots into windows.

but what im getting now is it boots right to the bios screen, none of the keys work on that screen. it sits there for half a minute or more, then black screen and it shows the video card model in the top left, and then it boots into windows.

so the card still seems to work, but it doesnt let me get into the bios etc.

as i said before if i put the old card in it everthing loads and works fine, or if i use the on board video.

i have started the RMA process with newegg at this point.

Yeah You have a generation older than mine, you definetly have to upgrade for your new video card i bet :D

Try going to the gigabyte site and downloading what you need to update your bios to the latest firmware :D

Wait my bad. The last time i upgraded the bios was 2012, that was when the U1L(UEFI BIOS) version first came out.
Im noticing now the date on the MOBO website says 2013/03/08.

So maybe i should just flash that bios and test it before sending the card back.

So i thought the BIOS update fixed it, i installed it a couple days ago and everything was working fine.

Today i turn on the computer and the old version of the BIOS comes up!! And its doing the same thing it had been before.
No clue how this is possible.

So i remove the video card and boot off the onboard video, the newer BIOS screen loads and windows comes up fine.

I put the video card back in and the new BIOS loads up and it goes into windows.
Not a clue why this happened.

Once into windows my NIC is no longer showing up, its not in the system at all now.
Checked the BIOS and its enabled in there. But the onboard NIC does not show up at all in windows.

So now im starting to think i need a new motherboard?

so i release this mobo as dual bios, so that explains why the old one booted up, maybe something happened to the other one. ?
Im gonna try and reflash the bios and see if the NIC will come back.

If not i have a PCI NIC i can install for now, might have to order a new mobo i guess :(
