Oem windows return

I bought an oem version of windows 8.1 from canada computers 2days ago. It was DOA and I know this because I botted up vista on the system and it went. My question is is it possible to return an opened oem version of windows 8.1 to canada computers. By that I mean get it replaced

Well.... what kind of system did you install it on? it's possible your system isn't compatiable with windows 8. Download this upgrade assistant and see what it says:

You'll have to get in contact with the seller to see if they'll take it back but... I doubt it, it'd be too easy to "steal" windows if you could return an opened product.

Also did you try doing an upgrade install? because you can't do that with OEM versions of windows.
