my starwars kotor keeps crashing on my xbox 360

I get to the part after you escape taris where your in the turret mini game but it won't start the screen just turns black and theres only minor scratches on said disc I grew up playin kotor and would really love to play it again I appreciate any help or ideas

I never had much luck running KOTOR/II on the 360, would get about an hour in and the game would break due to the poor emulation, I would not recommend playing that version. Sadly the PC versions of the game (Disc based) fail to run on Windows 7 for me, regardless of patches/compatability mode options, they crash right after the character setup screen.

I recently picked up the steam versions for cheap, haven't had a chance to test them though, hoping for the best as I really want to play with the restored content mod for KOTOR II.

Well, it's worth mentioning that both KOTOR and TSL are both $10 on Steam for PC, and seem to go on sale every couple months. They look best on a PC as well, and will run on relatively weak rigs...

As for the 360, it's well known across the internet that KOTOR running on a 360 isn't very stable. The 360 emulates original Xbox games for backwards compatibility, and sometimes you end up with low performance or crashes like what you're describing. It's not a problem with your disk; it's a random problem with how the 360 plays original Xbox games. Maybe it'll go away, maybe not.

But KOTOR and the sequel both look best and play best on a PC.
