What possible replacement can be made

I got a Dell Optiplex G1 tower from a friend. Well the system doesn't have a HDD now. So I would like to know whether it will support a SATA HDD and if yes then what's the max size which will be supported?

From what information i've located, it uses PATA (ide cables), not sata.
The largest ide HDD I found online was 250Gb, although I had read that there may be some up to 320Gb/500Gb.

I believe that system was limited to drives smaller than 136gb.
But really.. a Pentium 2 is going to have problems even browsing the internet these days. A Pentium 4 struggles with facebook. What are your plans for this pc?
