New GPU For Motherboard

I'm going to replace my old nvidia 9500gt with a R9 270X dual-x OC On my Asus P5K-Pro motherboard and im not sure if I need to update my bios because currently im running on the 2008 version of it please respond soon because i'm going to buy it in a week :]

I dont think there would be any problem using it. As i've used that card with an older mobo just to try it out. And even if that Asus P5K Pro needs a BIOS update i dont see the problem.

But this is not my concern. You'r CPU is a bottleneck.That card can play games on 1080P easily but that CPU wont give it a go. My advice ? Wait and gather some $ and buy a new PC. You can always ask here for help. We will only need the budget and some more data.Actually there is a link to fill in the right section. Personally i wouldnt buy that card with that PC.

Well i'm getting a new psu aswell so in total it's gonna be
CPU: Intel Core2Quad Q9300 2.50 ghz
RAM: 4GB OCZ 800Mhz
PSU: Corsair VS650 watts
Mobo: Asus p5k Pro
GPU: R9 270X dual-x OC

And also i needed to know wether not to update my BIOS

well the problem is i'm a 14 year old who got this pc for free so i'm looking into upgrading rather than getting a whole pc because it's hard for me to get money

I mostly play at 1440x900 *max res 1680x1050* and i'm also playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive most of my time and sometimes a bit of battlefield,red orchestra 2 and things like that :] but atm i have nearly 200 euro's
