Most laptop CPU's aren't soldered. Like on my laptop(i7-2670qm), it just sits in the socket and can be removed just like a desktop processor and can be replaced with a processor supporting the same socket. So it depends on the socket and hardware your laptop suport.
On the other hand, you wont be able to find a significantly faster processor (200-300 MHZ wont make a big difference) that your laptop supports, plus mobile CPU's are expensive and hard to find, it will not be a wise investment at all.
I use AutoCAD, Inventor fusion and 3ds max on my 2.2GHz i7, and I dont face any problem. You might as well run them without problems.
