Disabling (additional) GPU-scaling in full-screen applications

Hi! I'm used to playing CS:GO on a 16:10 monitor, using a 4:3 resolution. I just "got stuck" with a 16:9 monitor and I'm having some issues getting the 4:3 resolution (in-game) stretched as if I was playing on a 16:10 monitor.

I've activated GPU-scaling (my graphics card is ATI Radeon 4870x2) and ticked the keep-aspect-ratio-box. And it works perfectly. Until I launch the game, in which the 4:3 ratio is also maintained (in other words, the "black bars" expand).

So, in short, I'm looking for a way to gpu-scale the desktop resolution without doing the same to the resolution in-game.

Additional information:
- I get the result (stretch) I want when changing from full-screen to windowed mode on CS:go.
- It also works perfectly when connecting the 16:9 display to my laptop (macbook pro á 2012, which uses 16:10)

I would be very thankful for any advice from you guys on this issue!

Solution
ok, change all the settings back to default, the same aspect ratio your monitor is. set the game to 16:9, set the aspect ratio on windows to 16:9, and uncheck the keep aspect ratio box. then, go into the game, and change the aspect ratio to whatever you want and see if it works.
