The internet doesn't seem to have any concrete answers! So, if you have a 1080P monitor that runs at 120Hz, is HDMI 1.4B enough? What about a 144Hz monitor!? Although no 120Hz 1440P monitors exist now, would a 1.4B cable work? Or do you need 2.0. Does even 2.0 work!?

Thanks for any replies! :)

Solution
I believe HDMI 1.4b is enough for 1080p120; it's basically the same bandwidth as 1440p60. Fitting 144Hz is a little more difficult; I don't really want to do the maths on the pixel clocks.

HDMI 2.0 doesn't really exist yet, but 1440p120 should be similar bandwidth to 2160p60 (4K).
