Somehow or other when I booted up my drive, at first was not recognized as available. After several reboots the disk was recognized but Windows XP claimed that it contained one partition and that partition had no data on it. I Googled around and found some files to help me understand what was going on. Unfortunately the Drive letter for the GoFlex had changed and also the Firefox setting had changed to automatically download to the GoFlex which was now drive D, and not partition D on my internal disk. So I know that the drive is readable and writable for those files. But, running a disk recovery program I saw that the Seagate factory installed software was no longer on the drive. I am most concerned with getting the software required to let use a USB3 port that I plan to install my self. But the other software that came with the disk would be helpful, especially for my second question dealing with automatically backing up my PC now that I can rely on Microsoft for updates to my XP OS which they no longer support. I assume that the factory installed software is available but probably has to be installed somewhere specific on the GoFlex.
I have the original box it came in so that I have the different serial numbers and part numbers, but have no idea which is which. I bought my drive at COSTCO but never registered it with Seagate.
