my computer won't accept the Microsoft account password even after I changed it several times per instructions. it remains on the login page. how can I format the drive and then reinstall the operating system from my disc

Hi

If you have a bootable windows 8 DVD or USB stick
Boot from it
It will offer various options for repair or re installation including format or re install over top of existing windows

You will loose all data on c:

If you contact a computer repair professional they can re set the windows login password for you

You will lose any encrypted files if you do this

We are not allowed to help you bypass passwords in this forum

I've used this method to remove the password on a windows 7 computer, it's possible that this would also work for windows 8
