I am planning on building a PC this summer, and I was wondering if a 240mm radiator would fit in the front of the Corsair 450D case, without removing the hdd cages. If you do have to remove the hard drive cages, where would be the best place to mount a 240mm radiator?

This is my first build and I just want to make sure I am getting maximum cooling in my case.

If you want to know what my parts list just let me know!

Thanks in advance for helping!

280 exhaust would definitely be better. I wouldn't use a liquid cooler as an intake any way. It will give you slightly better temps than exhaust (probably on the order of 1 or 2 degrees) because it's using cooler...

For maximum cooling, I'd put an h110 in the top as an exhaust. It's 280mm, so it should be quieter and more effective than a smaller one. If you want a 240 instead for some reason, you could also put that in the top.

True, but what I was planning on doing was mounting a 240 (h100i) in the front for intake as long as i didn't lose the hdd bay. Since i am planning on getting an hdd, and that is the only place to mount a hdd.
What would be better?-

240 intake (as long as I don't lose the hdd bay)
OR
280 exhaust

280 exhaust would definitely be better. I wouldn't use a liquid cooler as an intake any way. It will give you slightly better temps than exhaust (probably on the order of 1 or 2 degrees) because it's using cooler air from outside instead of warmer air from the case. However, it's going to have a negative effect on the other components, because it's blowing air into the case that's been heated by the cpu, which can get up to 80C.
