On my motherboard, the front panel headers are all in one row and have no labels or colours at all http://postimg.org/image/3voxw4scj (sorry for bad quality)
I'm getting a new case but at the moment I have a ribbon cable connecting the USBs, buttons etc. like this one

There are no USB headers or anything, only the one strip of connectors
The motherboard is an Optiplex 330 KP561, and I can't find any manuals online
If anybody knows how to tell which is which, or if there's always a certain layout for these types that'd be great
Thank you

your motherboard is using a fairly old standard IDE for connecting peripherals. all the new usb front IO rely on a different USB header on the motherboard. if you google 'front USB motherboard header' it will give you images of what some of the newer headers look like
