Hey guys,
Built my PC two weeks ago and it's running great with one exception. It makes this annoying vibrating noise when it's idle and it generally goes away when it's under load. It comes and goes and changes frequency. I checked all my fans, hard drive, GPU and they aren't the source. I also don't think it made that noise when I did my test boot
It sounds like it's coming from the CPU/Mobo area. It's really annoying as it's far louder than any other noise my PC makes when it's idling. My temps are fine and tightening all the screws didn't do anything
Do I have a defective mobo/cpu or is it just case acoustics? It also changed frequency when I took the side panel off
These are my specs:
i5-4670K
Asus Maximus Hero VI
GTX 680 SLI
Hyper Evo 212
WD Blue 1TB
Corsair HX750
Fractal Arc Midi R2
Any help is appreciated. Sorry if this is not the right board, I just want to try and fix this myself before I go to a computer store. Thanks
