Hi guys. Hope that you could help me out.

Currently I have a MSI B75A-G43 motherboard, and i want to replace it with a Asus Z87-A because of the SLI option. The graphics card that I'm using is GTX 680 and i want to go SLI with it.

Now for the main question:

Is it possible to replace the motherboard without reinstalling Windows 7 on the new? And does all my data from my HDD and SSD going to be backupped and transfered to the new motherboard?

Hope you can help me

Regards

Louie

No guarantee, but I've had about 95% completions w/ no problems using Win7...make a backup for sure, and make sure your Win is up to date. Then just install the drive, Win will boot, examine the new hardware, load default drivers as appropriate and you are running, next update the latest mobo drivers from the mobo website. Next, run a registry cleaner (Wise has a good free one) to clean out the old references> And will prob have to re-activate Win, takes about 10 minutes and they generally always give a new reactivation code, Just did it last week when I changed over from a Z87 Hero to a Z97 Hero
