Extremely bad performance in a lot of games with decent rig

Hi guys, I got assasins creed 2 and im having the same fps an in assasins creed 4, which is pathetic considering it looks worse, is older and isn't nearly as heavy, im having about 24-34 fps in cities and 55-60 fps in places like tombs and inside.
Before you accuse of bottleneck let me display my setup
GPU:GTX 650 TI
CPU:C2D E7500 @ 3.4 ghz
RAM:6 GB
I tried to verify cache, reinstall steam and the game aswell, also there is virtually no difference in fps between max settings and lowest ones.
Im also able to play BF3 on High/Ultra 2x MSAA on multiplayer at a healthy 30-50 fps, so I find it hard to believe im unable to play such an old bad looking game UNLESS this was ported to PC by the genius fellows at Rockstar studios in collaboration with ConsoleGestapo.

Yea, that's really weird then. As either unstable over clock made the most sense, but cpu demanding games was a small stretch but could've easily been it. But Assasins creed black flag is the newest #1 most demanding game but that wouldn't at all explain your assasins creed 2 issues. So, id say try to overclock higher then, keep eyes on thermals, and other than that im sorry but don't know what else to tell you

Yep man, latest drivers, btw I already tried to deactivate sound drivers to no avail, this is really weird, im going to try to oc my cpu temporarily to 3.8-4.0 Ghz if I manage to, if I get better fps, it's obviously bottleneck, but I doubt it because BF3 runs exceptionally well and so does Sleeping dogs maxed out (AA High)

assassin creed games are more cpu bound than typical games. Your cpu isn't bad, but for todays games it is fairly week. Though it does overclock quite well. Only thing I can think of, just like you, is if your at 3.4ghz, id run stock and note those results compared to your 3.4, then overclock as high as you can and note those results. Another possibility is that your overclock isn't stable? If it isn't and then you stress it perhaps your loosing one of your two cores, that would easily explain the problem. Have you run a stress test like prime95 for 12-24 hours and made sure you current overclock is stable? Also monitor temps via hwiinfo or hwmonitor and make sure your not thermal throttling, less of a chance since bf4 and such should also get warm that route, but i'd guess either unstable overclock, or weak cpu. Have you tried like skyrim with mods or crisis?

Oh yes absolutely, skyrim runs silky smooth maxed out (no enb because fluctuating fps sucks) and I haven't got around to buying crysis 3 yet, but crysis 2 runs fairly smooth (read 40+ fps on very high 1080p) it's just this game really for some reason, I wanted to keep this dino-cessor until july so I can get myself an i5 or fx, and yeah it's absolutely stable the OC (45-48 celsius)
