I recently upgraded my Radeon 7770 to a 7950. I use my Sony 1080 TV for gaming and the 7770 worked just fine with my setup through HDMI. The 7950; however, shows no output on the TV. I tested it on a DVI monitor and even played some games at max to make sure. I left the HDMI still plugged in and AMD catalyst cannot detect the second TV display. I have even reset my BIOS to default. When I attempt to boot with only HDMI plugged in, the TV display acts like nothing is connected. I tested a second TV with a different HDMI cable and still nothing. Does this sound like a bad HDMI port on the card? Is there anything I could enable in the BIOS? Any help would be appreciated!

I was wondering if there was a way to "force" the output method. I tried some of the 720p/1080 options. I chose "1080i30 format to display manager (NTSC)" which didn't help. I cannot find such an option to "force" the method of output. I am going to reinstall the catalyst driver as it seems I have installed an outdated one.

Yes I have tried to detect displays through catalyst and win7's control panel. The latest driver didn't seem to help either. It will only show a DVI connection. I ordered a cheap mini displayport to HDMI adaptor since the 7950 can output minidisplayport as well. If that doesn't work then I guess I will have the card repaired/replaced under warranty.
EDIT: I can now successfully output to the TV through a mini displayport to HDMI adaptor. Mods can close this thread
