Hi! I'm not sure if this site is the appropriate place to be asking for help, but I'm running out of options.

So my computer takes forever to boot up, and before it finally does, it gives me a lengthy black screen with just my white cursor on it.

I've been having really long painful boot-up times lately, and I had two instances of blue screening this weekend so I decided to clean out my computer. I found some maleware ,so I deleted it. I cleaned up my registry and such using CCleaner. I scanned for Adware, Junkware etc. I deleted a bunch of empty files and folders as well. Then, because my adware removal tool had removed AVG by accident. I attempted to re-install AVG. This led to be discovering that my computer was black screening (with just a cursor) for a good 5-10 mins on boot.

The monitor turns on and off, my keyboard lights flash a few times. I get a black screen, then a welcome screen, then the black screen with the cursor. Then once I log in I get a "Can't run module" error. (some DLL error... I've been getting that for awhile and despite cleaning out malware it never stops.)

Anyways, any place I could start to get this fixed... that'd be awesome. Any help appreciated. I'm rather... worried.

In all honesty, I would just reformat. Most issues like this are painstaking and are not worth the time vs reformatting and starting fresh. You could try a repair install, but most of the time the issue is best solved by reformatting.

Was on the verge of doing that as I posted. Hopefully all will go well.
