Computer started restarting because of power surges, and now there's no video.

I built my PC about a month ago and in that time I experienced no issues. As of two days ago my computer started restarting intermittently while playing games. When the bios screen would flash up it would say computer restarted due to a power surge. Yet I am plugged into a surge protector and there is no bad weather or anything in my area nor has any of my other electronics (like the tv plugged in next my pc) have flashed or anything to indicate there was anything outside the computer has happened.

So now, after about this happening the fifth time I have now lost video out from my graphics card I have 2 monitors and neither turns on which leads me to believe it is not a fault with my monitors. . So is this something I can probably fix (I checked all the connections in the computer) or am I going to have to try and get parts warrantied?

If its just the GPU you would still get the windows startup tune. If thats the case you can power down, remove the GPU, connect one of the monitors to the motherbds display output, and then test the rest of the components.

How old is the Surge supressor? They do wear out and need replacing every year or so; more often in surge prone areas but most people don't realize this.

It isn't just the GPU anymore, I have no video out capability at all. The monitors have been tested and they do work. But there is neither onboard video nor any of the regular video out options, leading me to believe the motherboard likely failed. Unfortunately, I can't narrow it down further since I don't have another rig around to test any of the parts on.
