So my computer was running just fine and then i started experiencing a lot of popups so i ran all sorts of adaware removal tools which were not working. So i did a fresh install of windows 7 ultimate, i immediatelly installed all of the latest drivers. This is the third time i have done a fresh install on this computer. Originally when i was still installing drivers the computer would freeze while i was at the computer doing things. Once i finished installing the drivers i thought the problem was fixed so I went on my way but now i am noticing if i leave the computer running while im away it will will randomly freeze. the only thing that was running in the background was virus protection (currently avast but might go back to avg) and Steam which was downloading games. So Ive been trying to narrow down the problem. I ran Prime 95 for an hour on each of the 3 stock settings to test the CPU and ram with no freezing as long as i was at the computer. I then ran AS SSD 5 times in a row to see if it was my SSD with no problem. I have also ran 3d mark vantage to try and cause the problem. when that didn't help i stopped windows from shutting down my disks to save power, stopped it from disabling USB ports and all of that stuff, i set it to ware it does not turn off the display or go into sleep mode. I am not sure where to go from here. Anyway help would be appreciated. im running an asus sabertooth 990fx, 1090T, 8 gb g skill ripjaw ram, and a 6850 GPU. I went into the BIOS and defaulted all of those settings as well and made sure that the most current BIOS is installed. Problem did not start until i formatted the PC and freshly installed windows 7
