Best graphics card for 500 watt power supply?

Solution
Like DarkSable mentions, it all depends on how the rest of your system is setup. A quality 500w PSU (which it seems you might have) should be able to power at least a GTX 770/780, or possibly a R9 280x. If you have an OC'd FX 8350 GPU and a lot of other things on your system, than you might want to stay around the GTX 770 or R9 280x.

What is the make and model of your PSU, so we can help you further?

Also what is the rest of your parts that your using in your build?
Short answer: a gtx 760 is a safe bet.

Long answer: It depends on what the rest of your system is, if it's overclocked, if your power supply has enough PCIe connectors...

and most importantly its make and model. If it's a cheap brick, you don't want to be attaching it to an expensive graphics card.

Hey I am wanting to ask the same question I have an Intel 4670k 16gigs of ram but can remove 8 if needed and i have a ENB500AWT (model) 500 WATT psu not sure of brand but I think it's browse rated. Nothing is over clocked

Assuming you GPU is at or below the 280x you might be fine. What are your specs of the whole system and how long have you had the PSU?
