Jacked up graphics card

So I was replacing the thermal paste on my Graphics card until my screwdriver busted and the tip got stuck inside one of the screws that holds the gpu in place. I screwed everything else in and the fan works but it doesn't seem to display on the screen. Does the tightness matter on the gpu screws? It is an HIS HD 5830 Turbo.

yes, but you also need to make sure the heat sink was screwed down so it sits flush on the processor. gradually tightening the screws in a criss-cross pattern until they are snug enough.
