My computer recently started making this crackling sounds, dont know if fan or harddrive?

That is the sound of something caught in your fan, possibly even a piece of the impeller. You will need to address that soon by opening the laptop and getting to the fan (some models are very easy to access the fan, some not so much - YouTube is your friend here). If something is caught in there it should be easy to remove, if part of the fan impeller has broken, you'll need to replace the fan.
