Hey! I need to buy a new monitor due to purchasing a faulty one. I know near to nothing about monitors so I came here to ask. I have a budget of $200AUD ($185USD) What would you guys recommend?

Thanks! It would be used primarily for gaming.

Gaming, TN displays are best due to low response time and high refresh rates. If you want best gaming experience, a Benq XLT range monitor with 120/144Hz give you the best gaming experience.

There are some ASUS VX 1ms 1080p displays which have the size of 23" to 24".

If you have the GPU horsepower then a 144Hz Monitor is a good option. I have a Asus VG24QE which is great for games. The Even older games Like Borderlands, which is locked at 60Fps, Tears like crazy on my older AOC 1080p Display, but not at all with the VG24QE. I though it would be noticeable when your FPS exceed the monitor refresh rate Though I have gone over 144fps and I still have not seen tearing. The games look great . I can't really recommend this Monitor unless your interested in the 144Hz refresh rate or very low input lag..or the fact that it will be easy to mod with a g-sync module due to the Poor image Quality. TN panels are relatively cheaper than other panel types. the $300 price tag does not do this Panel justice. Though the price has gone up for some reason since I got it last Fall. If you have or ever used an IPS panel than you will notice the poor colour accuracy on the VG24QE...Movies do not look as crisp and Pictures often are nasty to look at as I can see the outline of every different shade....So I would get a IPS along with this or the Benq 24" 144hz monitor which has better picture than this one but it is still a TN.
