I am going to build a small pc with moderate gaming capabilities. I have chosen parts but i am completely new to building pc's so I am unsure about whether some of the parts are too good for other parts etc. I would like to reduce the cost too because i'm a student. Here is a list of parts i chose: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor £125.99
Asus Maximus VI Impact Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard £162.70 Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory £63.00
Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk £45.00 HIS Radeon HD 6850 1GB Video Card £135.91
Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced (Black) Mini ITX Tower Case £35.46
Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply£43.20
Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer £11.79 windows 8.1 total: approx 700. Also would i need a CPU cooler or any other components for this to work. And would wifi come with this motherboard. It would be nice to get it down to £600

here is what i came up with 120 ssd would be pretty much useless without an extra harddrive so 1tb hdd is more logical the impact motherboard is completely overkilling it. you can also cut cost by a lot by getting a 750 TI video card and that would allow you to downgrade power supply as well but i guess it depends what you consider moderate gaming.

The i5-4440 is locked, so the Maximus VI and new cooler is just pointless overkill.

esco-sid's build would cost less and perform better.

that's actually 200 over budget as he said he wants it for around 600 also it would be very marginally faster than the $600 option at 200 extra cost.

Hello, cheers for your answer it was really helpful. After doing some research i can now understand the Harddrive mistake i was making. Would this be a decent build ?? :
CPU | [Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor] £163.90 @ Amazon UK Motherboard | [MSI B85M-G43 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard]| £50.21 @ CCL Computers Memory | [Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory] |- Storage | [Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk]| £45.99 @ Amazon UK Storage | [Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive] £33.59 @ Aria PC Video Card | Asus Radeon R9 270X 2GB DirectCU II Video Card | £159.98 @ Novatech Case | Corsair 350D Window MicroATX Mid Tower Case | £79.99 @ Amazon UK Power Supply | EVGA 430W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply | £26.92 @ Scan.co.uk Optical Drive | Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer | £11.79 @ Amazon UK Operating System | Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) | £83.00 @ Amazon UK Wireless Network Adapter | [Asus PCE-N10 802.11b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter] | £10.94 @ Amazon UK | | Total £666.31

well you have a processor that is k series with a non z87 motherboard so it makes no sense you can put in a cheaper non k series cpu(4440) since your motherboard cant overclock anyways(or upgrade motherboard to z87/z97 and get a cpu heatsink that can handle overclocks such as 212 evo)) and power supply i would upgrade to higher wattage power supply (such as the xfx i linked) as you have an amd card in there it needs more juice than a 750 ti and most people make the mistake of skimping the extra $ on the power supply i really suggest a high quality power supply with good capacitors you don't want it failing the next year.
