Just to clarify, if my pc won't start after bad settings from an overclock attempt, I can short these two pins to clear the settings and go back to default right? I just want to know before I start OC'ing for the first time. Thanks!

Yes, if you are unable to access BIOS to revert changes (such as a bad overclock), clearing CMOS will set BIOS back to factory defaults, and you should be good to go.
