I'm picking a psu for my single gpu, GTX 8xx series card (the successor to the 760 most probably) system. I'm stuck between these two power supplies - I like the zero fan mode on the Corsair, but I'm on a budget and the extra $10 the RM costs does mean a difference. I like the looks of both - which one should I get ??

you should have a quite silent rig to notice the fans on the evga, but you save the dust problem with fan not spinning on the psu.

Why not get better quality than both of those for cheaper?

If noise is a legitimate concern then definitely go with the RM550.

If your power draw is above the 50% capacity of the EVGA SuperNOVA NEX650G then the fan speed will ramp up quickly to point where you will notice it.
