So recently my 7870 broke, i installed a 7100gs on the mobo while waiting
for my new r9 280x to come, the 7100 gs was getting my monitor's(syncmaster 2343nw)
native which is 2048x1152, but after some restarts it became 640x480 and the max
it supports now is 1600x1200, I'm using a vga to dvi adapter.

And i should add that i thought it was the 7100 gs, so my r9 280x got here today
and i just tried it, after installing the drivers(driver sweeper from safe mode n shit)
and doing everything, i saw that the resolution cant get back to native.

I'd strongly suggest using DVI; VGA doesn't always do quite what it should at higher resolutions.

*Update* Ok i just realized what happened, i activated my evo 840's RAPID mode after that the pc crashed and since then the monitor has never been able to get native resolution, obviously if the pc cant even recognize the monitor then the problem is EDID, does anyone know how to fix a corrupt EDID file because i just read about this and i have no idea what the hell is all of this about.

Usually that's graphics drivers.

Your monitor should have way more than just a VGA.

Geez guys, I'm already pass those things..

Anyways to whom actually understands this, i have an INF file now
generated by Powerstrip, which contains my original stuff for the EDID
now i just need to find a way to replace it or whatever. No idea how tho.
