Hi! Forgive me if this is in the wrong section, I'm new here.

Anyway, I'm building a PC for the first time, but it's giving me some trouble. Here's what I'm working with.

Once I got everything together, I tried turning it on, and got five long beeps, which apparently means a graphics card error. I tried unplugging the graphics card, and it POSTed perfectly. I tried plugging it back in, making sure it was in all the way, and it had all the power cords it needed plugged in nice and snug. Still nothing. So, I unplugged it again and tried updating the BIOS. After I successfully did that, I tried again, and still got sad beeps. I unplugged mine again, tried my friend's graphics card, and, once again, got beeps.

I think it's time to call it a bad PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot (I only have one) and RMA the motherboard. Before I disassemble everything and send it back though, I just wanted to ask if there's anything else I could try or might be overlooking. In all my googleing, I saw someone suggest installing the drivers for my graphics card and then trying it, but I think you can only do that through Windows. I haven't installed Windows yet, and I don't want to until I'm positive I have a working motherboard, since I got the OEM version.

Thanks!
