Here is my CURRENT PC's Configuration:

Processor: AMD FX 6300 with stock cooler
Motherboard: Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 270X OC Edition
Power Supply: 550 W

I am new to overclocking and hence I've been looking into youtube for tutorials. I couldn't get to conclusion that which one is safe to use. On the other hand, I will be receiving my aftermarket cooler within 2-3 days. Before it's arrival, Can anyone suggest me the parameters to use in the BIOS which would be really helpful for me?

Edit: Also, what are the programs that I need to download and install before starting the overclock?

Read this first:

This is an excellent guide and still applies to Vishera/Piledriver CPUs.

Also, what aftermarket cooler did you get? You can get an FX 6300 to 4.4-4.5 GHz on near stock voltage with something good like a CM Hyper 212 EVO. Better cooling will yield more potential.

Fsb is a solid way, little bit harder to get stable but better results. 212x is very similar to the evo as well.
