Cpu I5 Unparking

Solution

Not in the space permitted here. But basically, it involves going into BIOS and finding the FSB section and increasing it. That will also increase the speed of every other component that runs off the FSB. So you would have to find those components and back them off as close to their stock values as possible. You don't want to increase those other things while you are trying to increase the CPU speed and testing your OC for stability. And...

You can do a manual BSB overclock, but this is most often unstable, and you will only get an extra 100mhZ

Yes, I know one can do a FSB OC, but I was trying to get the OP to explain what he meant by "unparking". :D

Only via the Front side bus. That's what PCJoe was trying to tell you. You won't get a very high OC compared to having an unlocked multiplier like the K models have and it is more complicated.

And after all that work, if you are lucky you may end up with a 0.1 GHZ increase. Really not worth it in my estimation.
