Narrowing down cause of freezing after stopping it with multiple changes

I just built a new PC and it passed memtest, and was fine in prime95 while overclocked at 4.4ghz for the 12 hrs I ran the test with no heat issues, switched back to default clock speeds after. I also ran furmarks along side prime95 with no issues in a separate test.

My problem was in between all my testing even while not overclocked the system would randomly freeze, mouse wouldn't move keyboard caps light wouldn't go on, so I would have to do a hard reset. After googling for 2 days, reinstalling drivers changing 1 thing at a time in bios with no results, I went with a blanketed approach:

reinstalled windows,
unplugged old pc from same power strip,
moved usb keyboard and mouse from front to back usb ports,
Disabled HPET,
Disabled XMP,
Disabled Turbo Boost,
Disabled C1E,
Disabled C6,

Disabled VRM,
Indicated windows OS in Bios

Systems been up with no freezes or errors in event viewer for 72 hours, when I'm not using I leave some kinda stress test or game running.

Now that I'm not freezing up I'm starting to re-enable things one at a time, but since it could take days to test each issue I was wondering what is most likely the culprit.

System Specs:
AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor
Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P AM3+ Motherboard
G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Superclocked Video Card
XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
Microsoft Windows 8.1

Update: Been running both PCs off same power strip like before with no issues.
Update: Re-enabled clock states with no issues.

Did you reset your overclock during all that?

Edited post to clarify, the freezing was occurring in both default and overclocked settings.

Update: Been running both PCs off same power strip like before with no issues. So 9 possible causes left.

Maybe XMP? Backing off on the RAM timings would make the machine more stable.

XMP is pretty low on my priorities, so if its just that, I'm not to worried. Testing re-enabling CPU core states(C1E, C6, Turbo Boost) for next 3 days right now. If there is an issue with my system handling core states that would be concerning.
