Will AMD be releasing any more high performance CPUs?

I really like AMD for awhile but they haven't released any high performance cpus in awhile and their new cpu lineup doesn't appear to be focusing on high performance gaming cup's. And since I'm building a new gaming computer, I would like to invest my money into something that will be easily upgraded in the future. The fx series motherboards don't even have modern chipset including a Pci-e 3.
So is there any glim hope that AMD will continue producing high performance cpus?

Like I have been saying for over a year now.AMD needs to scrap the FX lineup, scrap the AM3+ socket, and start over.
I want to see TRUE 8 physical cores, no resource sharing modules, not these weak cores. True 8 core Phenom III is all I want to hear. New architecture, new socket.
Agreed

I have said the same and agree with you 100%. If they actually did that and if it actually gave Intel some competion like the Phenom II did I would go back to AMD. Untill then AMD is useless to me for my needs and I'll continue buying Intel CPU's.

Probably in autmn or in summer. The Maxwell efficienty in the GTX 800 series will allow the card to have 6x performance per Watt over gk110
That means if a card in the 800 series consumes the same ammount of power in the GTX 780 ti, it will be approx. 6x better than the GTX 780 TI
Probably won't be the same wattage, the gtx 780 is 250W and it is made on a different scale

Smh.... AMD is going to lean towards APU's in the near future which isn't very efficient for gaming. Not going to lie but the FX-Series were great while it lasted(still kinda is.. but not for long).Yeah, I agree. I still think AMD should still have at least 1 high perfuming cpu to compete with intel...

Apart from the name, what do you think intel has? CPUs with integrated graphics aka APUs. There is nothing inherently inefficient in the design, only the x86 cores used on the die, which are weaker than intel cores.
If AMD could make substantially stronger cores, would anyone here worry about the fact it was an APU?

Well, AMD did have very bad cores and were by no means efficient at it, however, the 8 modular cores still had 8 threads and to some extent when the fx-8xxx and fx-9xxx were releases, they could compete with intel primarily because they were cheaper with a tiny bit of performance lost. Also AMD chips are generally pretty easy to over clock to 5Ghz which compensated for the crappy cores.

Yeah, i might go with a lga2011 socket cpu by intel, I just not familiar with any intel motherboards that support lga2011, any suggestions?ASRock X79 Extreme4
Asus P9X79
Biostar TPower X79
Intel DX79TO
MSI X79A-GD45 8D
ASUS Rampage IV Formula there you go
I decided on going with the lga1150 with the intel 9 series chipset and wait for the intel devils canyon i7 which I believe is coming out in June 2nd

The i5-4440 is a beast compared to anything AMD has for gaming.

But it isnt compared to what intel has to offer. Its a great combination of CPU and GPU anyways.
