I have a budget of no more than $150. At least 24"

I am not completely set on the BenQ because it doesn't have HDMI. Is that a big deal?

Not having HDMI is not a big deal as long as you have a DVI connector on your video card and monitor, and separate PC speakers.
The quality between DVI and HDMI is exactly the same; 100% lossless digital.

BenQ makes good monitors, and 24" is a good size for 1080p.

24" would be over your budget. And honestly can you notice a difference betwenn 22 and 24 inches ?
