My current 250gb secondary drive has a connector problem and I am thinking about replacing both the boot drive and secondary with one hard drive. I would like to know the best hard drive under $100. I want 1tb and 3.5 inches. Are there hard drives with both a boot SSD and a hard drive in the price range. I am looking for best performance and long life. I will consider SSHD if reccomended. Thanks!
Unfortunately, the hybrid drives dont seem able to put windows in the ss bit, its an 8 gig cache like more ram and it just stores the popular things it guesses you want to open next. They seem to slow down when you have accessed something twice ! Better to get a non green type hdd if you want to keep it cheap and simple. Avoid energy saving models. get blue or better..
