I just bought my Samsung USB 2.0 Ultra Portable External DVD Writer Model SE-218CB/RSBS and I can't get it to work on my HP Envy laptop. It see's the dvd under my computer but I can't get it to play the movie. No instructions were given, and I'm confused.

Do you have DVD player software installed? Did the drive come with an installation disc? If yes, it may include at least a trial version of DVD player software. If not you could try downloading the VLC player. It is free and should play DVD movies.
