Guys I need help with my msi b75 g43 gaming, the problem is when I insert my msi r9 270x hawk
iam not able to access the bios of my motherboard, (the graphical bios the one you can use with the mouse) im definitely sure that it is not my gpu i already switched it to my other rig.
my computer can reach windows but the problem is why i cant access my bios during startup with my Gpu, but when im using the integrated gpu i am able to access the bios flawlessly.

iam using the latest bios version msi has released , already tried clear cmos, iam using an i3 3220
, and already tried using a different gpu, im sure the memory has nothing to do with it. im using gskill ripjaws i also tried using them one at a time still no luck.

e7758ims v26.2

thanks in a advance guys, i hope someone can help me with this

you think so? here's what ive found so far in my research. when im using a regular monitor with a vga cable iam able to access the uefi bios, i already contacted msi chat support. it takes ages before I receive a single reply from those guys. maybe if im using a regular monitor i wouldnt be in these situation. the problem could be my led tv not supporting my video cards implemented resolution or Refresh rate. bcoz when my r9 270x is inserted uefi bios is showing a zoomed bios only showing quarter of the options.

im not the only one experiencing these kind of issue:
heres another one https://www.sapphireforum.com/showthread.php?31134-Problems-with-running-BIOS-on-LCD-TV-(possibly-refresh-rate-set-to-50Hz-instead-60Hz)

any ways thank you i hope i could sort this out/ or you could help me more. seriously you're asking the right questions more compared to msi chat support

yes for the motherboard i do have the latest bios, im not sure with my gpu i cant find it on msi's website can you send me a link for vbios update for an msi r9 270x hawk 2gb.

heres more info ive researched / read

The issue for you guys not getting a display is a handshaking problem between your GPU and monitor. The only resolution supported by UEFI is 1280X1024. If for some reason your GPU and TV/monitor don't handshake at that resolution, you'll see the splash screen but either get a garbled display or no display in UEFI. You'll also find you're fine when in Windows (for obvious reasons).

There is no fix for this from our side. The GPU VBIOS and monitor native resolution are where the problem lies. If the display you've connected does not handshake correctly with the GPU for whatever reason, it will likely default to its native resolution, and if that's anything other than 1280X1024 you've got a problem displaying UEFI. This happens with some TVs, projectors and monitors with certain GPUs. Older displays are more likely candidates for such problems, as are very high res monitors that use new conections ( DP 1.2 daisy chaining two monitors can create problems) . I suspect a VBIOS update from the GPU vendor might help, but chances of GPU vendors making specific VBIOS versions for this are unlikely. Only workaround is to connect a display that allows you to see UEFI or try using another method of connecting the GPU to the display (DVI instead of HDMI for example). Obviously, the latter is not a guaranteed workaround, as it depends how the display and GPU handshake on that output, too.

Similar problem here; have a MSI B85 G43 with a R9 270x turbo duo and the bios screen is ill-sized, then I get an error message 'bin file not recognised' when I try and actually use BIOS. More problematic is that I can't actually change settings (was going to try and install an SSD) - as when you try and exit it just freezes completely, forcing a restart.

After much searching I came here, and also saw a similar conclusion at the link below:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1415103/msi-z87-g41-obscure-bios-issue

I am using a LCD tv with a 1366 x 768 resolution, which does appear to be giving the GPU some issues on startup, flicking through several resolutions before settling. I am going to try getting a monitor onto it with a proper resolution and see how I fare...

im sorry to hear bro,
the best soulution i can give you since I also experienced thesame issue (its not a problem ) is you need to have a vga cable plugged in from your cpu to the led tv. the same time with your hdmi cable..
if i need to make changes with the bios i just switch the tv to vga mode and that will do the magic ( i hope your display supports my fix) you dont need to unplug it. your 270x will detect that your using multi display. so you can access both vga and hdmi at a time. i hope it helps you dude give me a feedback

yeah you have a point. but it worked for me.. thats the only fix i could advice for someone who is having problem accessing the uefi bios w/ an led tv, after doing research on google with no luck i tried it myself. and it did work!
so if i need to make some changes on my bios on startup i switch to "vga mode" and once im done i just press the remote to "hdmi mode". no need to unplug and replug i do it simultaneously while the pc is booting up. works like a charm for me. and besides the default display is always set to hdmi so the vga is only secondary
seriously dude this is the best fix u can do instead of buying a new monitor
