A ticking or clicking hard drive is not usually a good sign, and keeping your important data on just one drive is not very wise. You should have put backup copies on another hard drive because all hard drives fail sooner or later, as surely as night follows day.

Install SeaTools for Windows and test the external hard drive with it: http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support/downloads/item/seatools-win-master/

If the hard drive has failed, only a data recovery specialist can get the data off it, and even then there's no guarantee that all your data will be intact, plus it's a very expensive service. Two good reasons why keeping backups is so essential.

Thank you for your comment. Actually I usually take copy of may data quarterly and i have a copy up to March. but Also it will take time from me to do the work of April and May again. I thought that may be there is a software can help solving the issue.
