Okay so I've got my SSD, and have not been able to find any resources on my question, but before my question, this is my set up: a Toshiba Satellite P75-A7200, Windows 8.1 with a PNY Optima 240gb ssd and the stock 750gb hdd. So question, can you do an ENTIRE hard drive to SSD clone, such as OS, programs and user profile? everything that I have heard about cloning is about transferring the OS and nothing else, oh and by the way if I can't do this should I do a clean install? And if I am left with the clean install option should I just upgrade to W8.1 PRO instead of just W8? - many questions, fewer answers.

Disclaimer: I always recommend a clean install on a new SSD.

But - First you have to determine your space requirements
How large is the current HDD? 750GB
How space is used on it?
Haw large is the SSD? 240GB

If the space used on the HDD is larger than ~200GB, you'll have to make some adjustments.
Uninstall some stuff, remove a bunch of video, that sort of thing.

I tried a clone but when I restarted could not boot the SSD and asked if I wanted to repair MBR. It also asked what operating system I wanted to use, the one on the HDD or the SSD.
