After installing an Nvidia Dual Display Port in my HP dc7800 OS-XP I lost my audio.

How do I fix it?

I tried it on another machine similar to first and noticed that the card itself kicks out the on-board audion driver without me having to install the nVidia drives.

Looks like a compatability issue with the NVIDIA NVS 310 512MB Graphics Cards alone and the HP Compaq dc7800 SFF machines.

Any ideas on how to go about this apart from upgrading to a more compatable machine?

Na buddy....the on-board sound was removed the moment I installed the card. I didn't have to install it's drivers for it to kick off the on-board audio. It's happened to a few HP Compaq dc7800 machines. I tried enabling the sound via BIOS, I tried downloading the official driver but was always requested to download a management app or was blocked by security. I've tried copying to registration and allowing but still negetive. It works for the HP Compaq dc 8100s, unfortunately the 7800 don't like the card for some reason.

I've resorted to imaging on a 8100 instead. didn't want to waste time on it too much but it would be handy to know if there is a way around this issue.

Thanks alot for your contribution I'd be glad to answer some of your IT issues as well. When I'm free that is. I pop in every now and then.

Cheers.
Irik.

That was one of the first things I did but didn't work.

Thanks though
